Our Design/Build Process

design-imgStep One: Initial Contact                      

The customer contacts Westphall Remodeling and sets a convenient time for an in-home or on-site estimate. Usually an initial brief description of the project can help us to better prepare for the estimate.

Step Two: Free In-Home or On-Site Estimate

Our experienced and knowledgeable Estimator/Design Professional will meet with you to discuss your project in detail. We will carefully listen to all of your unique project requirements. We will take on-site pictures and or measurements to aid in providing an accurate and fully detailed construction estimate.

At that point, together we will determine if we will be able to provide an estimate based on the owner’s description of the project or as per any drawings or plans which the owner may already have. If further design and or drawings are required to create the foundation for an accurate bid, the owner may choose to retain our design services to create an accurate, functional and attractive design  that will help to bring the owner’s vision  to a reality.

Step Three: Project Design

Our design professionals will create a computer generated architectural floor plan of your project with complete details and dimensions. Depending on the project, we may also provide front and side views so as to better capture the complete vision of the project.

Depending on the project, Westphall Remodeling may need to meet with the owner once or twice before completing the initial design. At that point an accurate construction estimate can be provided to the owner as per their design. The initial design plans can then be used to expedite and produce a working “permit-set” of plans to be used when the project moves forward.

Step Four: Project Construction

Upon review of the project design and the detailed estimate and proposal agreement provided by Westphall Remodeling, the owner may then choose to move forward with ‘Westphall” as their contractor. Depending on the size and type of the project, Westphall Remodeling may also include between 2-20 hours of one-on-one consultation with an interior design/decorator to assist the owner with colors, fixtures and material types.

Westphall Remodeling usually has included a project payment agreement in the proposal/contract which begins with a small initial deposit and continues with several progressive payments as the project materializes.

Depending on the size and type  of the project as well as its location within the city and surrounding areas, Westphall Remodeling usually will need to submit for and retain Building Permits. Building officials will inspect the project throughout the course of construction to document that proper codes and building procedures were followed.

Westphall Remodeling will move your project forward in a timely and professional manner. Care is taken to protect and secure all areas during construction. Our project manager strives to keep all of our job sites clean and orderly. Westphall Remodeling carries up to $2,000,000 in liability insurance to make sure your job site and assets are protected.

Upon job completion the owner will receive all plans and approved inspection records. Westphall Remodeling will provide our standard 2/10 year project warranty for all labor and structural work performed as well as product warranties.
